God’s Timetable Vs Ours

Waiting….. how hard is that?

We pray we wait, we pray we wait. Still no answer.

Unknown.jpeg
We want things to happen and for things to be shown to us clearly as we wait for direction.

But have you ever noticed that as you wait, you do see things clearly. In hindsight many things I prayed for did not happen, and that for my greater good. Maybe something was given to someone over my desire to have it because it wasn’t right for me and very right for another.

Don’t get me wrong, God has answered many prayers and I have seen many great things happen under His hand. I came to resolve that my timetable is not God’s. So for you weary waiter’s (and I don’t mean in a restaurant!) I say there is a season where you see a lot happening, you may be in it right now or as I call it a desert season just waiting for God as He is shaping you for whatever is coming your way next. Hold firmly onto trusting God for wherever you are now.  His plans are making a way for better seasons and as you wait, your faith is always being tested. Paul tells us this in the book of Hebrews devoting a full chapter 11 to the faith of the ancient people in the Old Testament. They may or may not have seen their dreams come true but God is always faithful to those who love and worship Him.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

For those who have given up on your dreams, I say this to you, dreams are created in your life that others cannot see. When you have a dream, it’s because the dream you have is placed in you, to strive towards, used for the greater good of God and man. Dreams change and sometimes they die but if it is in you pray and see God’s hand and how He answers you.
Place your trust in God as He moves you closer to the things He desires for your life, surrender those tightly held plans and release them to Him, He knows the best direction.

It’s hard to see God working, isn’t it?
Especially when you think you should be going one way and the opposite is true. But God knows you better than you know yourself. That’s where trust, hope and faith come in.

Exodus 15:11
Who among the gods
    is like you, Lord?
Who is like you—
    majestic in holiness,
awesome in glory,
    working wonders?

In writing this to you I see my struggles with waiting, but I know as much as I struggle you do as well so as we are in the body of Christ we wait, we pray and we trust.

Do You See Results Of Prayer?

It’s not a coincidence that you are reading this today. You may be one of those that just don’t pray enough and think you should or if you pray you don’t seem to be getting the answer you think you should.

~Have you ever thought what would God want me to pray for?

~~Have you ever looked at this through God’s eyes?

Psalm 6:9

The Lord has heard my cry for mercy;
    the Lord accepts my prayer.

He wants you to pray and wait for His timing in a specific situation, waiting for answers are not easy, we run out of patience but that’s where God works in us to give us patience and provide us time to see a situation and work towards an outcome that we may not understand right now but will be revealed at another time.

There are types of prayers as well. There is a prayer of thanksgiving for all that you have and all He has given and still will be giving to you in the future days.

Have you thought about the things that God has prevented from happening to you? Or the accident you just missed, a situation that you thought you would never see the light from, have you thanked Him and for that gift of protection from something bad happening to you?

God sees all things, He knows what’s happening in your life but you haven’t turned to Him in prayer and asked for His leading because you find yourself leading your own life and ignoring what He has given to you.

Believing that God is working in your life leads to persistent prayer and waiting.

1 Peter 1:17

Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear.

To ignore God in any way doesn’t lead to good decisions in a life lived for self-gain or desires. But to seek God in everything sheds light on situations that you clearly thought there was no escape from, He leads you out into the green grass and gives you hope for a future and blesses you with gifts, but if you are too busy not to pray or call on Him for His help, you will continue to go down a blind path until one day he shows you that you need Him, desperately. A life lived without Him is not a life lived. It’s just living. So grab your coffee my friend and go read God’s word and see what he really does for you and you will pray to Him and seek Him more often. May the Lord bless you and keep you in His sight as you grow in your relationship with Him.

Mark 11:24

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Reaching The Mountaintop

You see so many people trying to climb to the highest Mountaintop, it takes endurance and strength and a will to keep going. How often do we face this same thing in our lives? We are trying to get to the mountaintop, something comes from the outside and detours us into an avalanche, so we slow down, maybe stop, we sometimes want to retreat but something inside of us tells us to continue on. We continue slowly up that steep rocky crag and suddenly we can see the top, but it’s far, should we stop right where we are and wait to see if there are options around the big overhang that is in front of us or do we decide we came far enough now that we seen the top I am satisfied? We have all been here. Not wanting to go beyond what God can give us strength to do. That’s when you think, do I have enough trust and faith to get all the way there? Or is God telling me to be satisfied with what I have achieved so far?

Turning back is the easy way, you think what you left was great but when you were there it was tough too. Having to face the past isn’t easy and letting it go is harder even still. But I say to you, what could happen if you get to the Mountaintop? I believe Jesus is there waiting for you, you can’t see Him behind that large rock overhang because it’s separating you from unbelief. Stay the course, tough it out and get to the Mountaintop and achieve what God has planned for you.

Stand Firm For Jesus

These are the days that much prayer is needed, if we are to face what is ahead then we will need all of the things that God has promised us a boldness to stand with jesus for truth and justice.  I have to say that so many times the world has offered us a way to  grow in selfishness and at the end of getting what we want it’s always emptiness. But when you stand with God, your life will be forever His and the riches of this world will be a yesterday thought.

Having a rich relationship with jesus is the way to the Father, Jesus tells us this. But as the days of this world grow colder, we need to stand firm on Jesus, what His promises are and how to behave when the attacks of satan are coming our way. The boldness you show for Jesus will be recorded and spoken about in heaven, be assured, the way to the Father is through His one and only Son Jesus Christ.

Shalom and Happy- Ross Hashanna

When God Abandons A Nation Part 3

When is Gods Wrath and abandonment?

Chapter 44 God has brought a great disaster on Jerusalem and the towns of Judah  verse 2- “Today they lie deserted and in ruins, 3 -“because of the evil they have done, They provoked me to anger by burning incense and by worshipping other gods that neither they nor you nor your fathers ever knew.”

Even the prophets were ignored.

How God deals with a Nation is in his hands, we see the nations at this rising up against each other and the punishment is theirs. Their infliction of self righteousness and anger towards each other as uprising occurs and all the people are left in ruin. But God has his moments when as a loving Father he will come forward and heal his people in the day of redemption. So as a follower of God, we must consider these things, is the day of reckoning at hand? Are we prepared to see that God has been provoked in many ways, the Nations are turning away from the truth of the gospel and preparing themselves for what may be inevitable danger to themselves.

We as a Nation, must stand firm on our God and His promises. He will be our only salvation and when we are not following what he commands us to do then we are in trouble. Turn your back on Him He will turn his back on the Country.

So this is the last post on this subject, my answer to all is clear, Praise God, look to Him and pray for this Country and countries all around the world, we are in crisis now, we need prayer, your prayer for us all.

Shalom

When God Abandons A Nation- Part 1

The Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah- Part 1

Jeremiah 7:27 When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you. when you call to them, they will not answer. Therefore say to them, “This is the nation that has not obeyed the Lord it’s God or responded to correction. Truth has perished, it has vanished from their lips. Cut off your hair and throw it away: take up a lament on the barren heights, for the Lord has rejected and abandoned this generation that is under his wrath.

If you don’t know anything about Jeremiah the Bible tells us he was a messenger and the Lord came to him about Jerusalem and the wickedness of their ways, such as adultery, worship of other gods and stars with  immorality in  shame. God told Jeremiah to warn the people to turn back to Him and give up their wickedness, repent, shave their heads in mourning. But as the story continues, the countless warnings with ignorance and pride the people with their King and priests just turned away. God wanted them back, God is jealous-even today.

Looking at all of this, I have to think about how many people are living way beyond even what those people were doing, with advancement in technology, crime and riches, people today have forgotten God- this is being said to the non believers consider  a relationship with God, today. He is jealous of everything you are distracted by, which is controlling your thoughts and you are forgetting Him.  stop, take a long look at your life right now and consider what eternity will look like for you. You have everything, but you have nothing if you don’t have a rich relationship with Jesus, clearly in Jeremiah the people forgot how to worship, they thought everything was cool, life was good in their world.

I am going to stop here and continue on next post about what God saw and how he reacted to the Nation that abandons God.

Making an Appointment with God

Recently I had lost a corporate job due to downsizing and have been doing a lot of praying on where God will send me next so  thought it was a good time to make a divine appointment with God for tomorrow and seek His will and a garden setting was the choice for quiet prayer.

So I set out for a beautiful Botanical garden in Ringwood NJ and got out of the car and walked, they had every kind of flower blooming and with camera in hand I set out to find the place to have that appointment. I found a gated area with a bench and some amazing green plant life with paths.

The reason I am writing to you about this is not the garden, job or anything else but really about the time you set aside for God. I realized that I don’t give God the time He deserves from me. I spend a lot of time in front of a computer, walking occasionally from the desk, but not looking at the word of God enough and not giving God time to speak into my heart, instead I’m filling it with more websites, emails and things to keep me away from spending that quality time with him which he requires us to do.

Back to the appointment, I sat down on the bench and looked around and thought God what do you want me to do? I don’t have an answer for direction which I am seeking, but instead, right there was everything he created for his appointment with me. The garden was created by gifts he gave to people to structure an area so beautiful that the waiting room for the appointment was perfect.

This is the point: Jesus many times went to the garden by himself to pray, that was his divine appointment with His Father. We need to do this more, get away from the desk and make the appointment!

Shalom

Speaking the Truth in Love, seeking God

If you are having the ability to speak the truth to the ones you love then why are you not speaking the truth in love?

For many of us are walking around trying to find the answer to questions that are easily answered. When God gives us the ability to speak to the ones we love in humility and peace it counteracts any turbulence that can occur. But if we come into a relationship and conversation that is based mostly in selfishness, then our love is not spoken in God’s love. We do need to pray and ask God for many things. but we don’t ask Him for the one thing that can drive our relationships closer to others, that is asking for the ability to love and to speak the truth in love, kindness and directing to Him for answers.

Many times in life we are just boasting about what we told someone, not directing them towards what God wants us to, to Him for the answers. We ourselves abandon this when we take things upon ourselves and not seek His guidance. But each day that we live, we have one more day of an opportunity to grow closer to God and teach others as well to grow closer to Hi. That is our duty to God, speaking the truth in love and moving those people towards Him for the answers, because only He can move mountains. So I leave this Psalm with you today, because we must all look to God for truth…. Shalom

Psalm 53
1 Only fools say in their hearts,

“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and their actions are evil;
not one of them does good!
2 God looks down from heaven
on the entire human race;
he looks to see if anyone is truly wise,
if anyone seeks God.

Encouragement On The Journey

We are all striving to be better on our journey back home to God. Although many struggle deeply with this, God is encouraging us to stay the path of righteousness and trust in Him for our needs. If you seem to be swaying back and forth as if you feel this time that you are spending on projects and work that you feel is in God’s word isn’t going the way God has planned, well you are wrong! God is moving you in the direction you need to be so that the work you do is not in vain but for the good of the Kingdom.

Now let’s loom at the way we are representing Him in the world. Are we:

Praying before we go about a new venture in Christ?

Leading in the way we see Jesus lead

Standing firm against a unbelieveing world?

Striving for the goal and prize of Heaven?

Preparing Gods people for Jesus return?

Look at these things and think am I doing this for me, or for the Kingdom ahead? Is this work that I do here for me? Or is it for the people that surround me in everyday life, the unbelievers that see something different in you, something unique which is Christ living. I ask you to reflect on this, pray for guidance that what you are doing is Holy Spirit driven, not the world or the flesh. Because God will strengthen you for the tasks, but you must stay in prayer as you accomplish the things in this world that He calls you to do. Stay focused For God! OMEN!

Are You Feeling The Blessing?

It’s that time of year, that time when everyone is getting ready for this Night, Christmas Eve. But lately when I am out, I am not seeing much of the joyful experience that God wants us to have. It feels like the spirit of Christmas, of our Savior’s Birth is just something that people feel obligated to fulfill through gift giving, pressure and the stress of getting it all done in time.

Now, think about this, when God determined the time of Jesus to be born, the world was also in chaos, wasn’t it? the Romans were taking over everything, just havoc everywhere and the people of Israel still faithful, waited for the coming foretold King that Isaiah the Prophet had told them about. so waiting was in their sight, the pressure of the times were so great, so many sufferings, so much worldly desires of the time.

So here comes Mary, a humble, loving human being, of no noble birth, but chosen to bear a Savior for the world. what a huge time for the world, unknown to man that The King of the universe will be born in a manger and of humble, surroundings.  The  faith of the two people who carried this unborn child to the place of the manger were chosen by God for this purpose. Think about how they felt, put yourself in their place. They didn’t know what to do but to hold on and live by faith and guidance of God. Now the reason for this is that God wants us to know that no matter where we are in this season, He will be there for you. The world holds many things, luxuries, gold and silver but God is everlasting and the stress you are feeling, the depression that holds you bound will dissipate when you have mighty faith as Joseph and Mary and that you are blessed because of this, that they did in faith.

Now, look at the things you have done in the last couple of days, with all this in mind, are you really praising and looking at the whole picture of what God has done for you? He sent His Son humbly into the world to define you, to die for all your sins, coming into the world and leaving in the same way, humbly, no shame and bearing all sins.

So I am saying to you, feel the blessing Immanuel is with us. AMEN
