Eye Witnesses Of The Living Jesus

If there is doubt in the world whether or not Jesus was real and some made up story, there are many historical facts that are documented history on this. The most trust worthy written word is in the New Testament of the Bible, there we find eyewitness accounts of Jesus appearing first to Mary Magdolin at the tomb then to the disciples, then to many others. Pressing out further, we find documented letters from His Apostles that have been written and shared about Him and shared with followers regarding His crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection from death. In the Gospel of John, we read how the obedient disciples wait in hiding until Jesus appears to them as He promised.

John 20:19

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”

In the Book of Acts, Paul (was Saul) himself experienced the Living Jesus on the road to Damascus as he was headed to persecute and kill Christians.

Acts 9:3-6

As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.

“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

Then later after Paul’s conversion we read in his letters of the resurrected and living Christ and as he wrote to the Corinthians and said:

1 Corinthians 15:6-8

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scripturesand that he appeared to Cephas (Peter) and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

There were many witnesses to the appearance of Christ that are documented in the Bible. There are other historical books that document Christ, Christians and the Romans persecution of Christians.

The following link is explores other documented evidence of Jesus’ existence.

(Bible History Daily)

At this time of High Holy Days, it’s a time to be reflective of our lives and what Christ has done for us on the Cross-, He died so that you could have eternal life; He defeated death and was a perfect sacrifice for your sins.

His faithful disciples knew first hand and stood their ground for Him as their one and only God. They were eyewitnesses to Jesus alive, talking and eating with them.

We may not be able to see Jesus, but when we whole-heartedly come to Him, he is in our presence through the Holy Spirit, which has guided you all along your life.

Jesus is as much alive NOW as He was then. We can’t see Him but he tells us in John

John 20:29

Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Be Blessed My Brothers and Sisters,

Nancy

Pride Just Holds You Hostage

There is nothing like going through difficulty in any circumstance that kicks us in the butt more than our own pride. Pride holds us hostage to it, we hold on to something we just don’t want to give up. Sadly many relationships have been destroyed because someone didn’t let go of some pride or judgment they were holding.

Ecclesiastes 7:8

The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.

Pride destroys opportunities, you may have something amazing in your sights, ready to grasp, but there’s something that you just can’t get from it that you feel you should. Then you may grumble because it’s not what you thought it should be.

Pride can prevent a person from making a positive, life changing experience.

That’s pride showing up just to flatten out what could have been something great.

Deuteronomy 8:17-18
“Otherwise, you may say in your heart, ‘My power and the strength of my hand made me this wealth.’ “But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

When sitting in pride others can feel it thus not opening their hearts to what could be a meaningful relationship, or making false assumptions about someone or something, as…

Pride can hold you back from loving or forgiving someone.

 Proverbs 13:10

Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.

Pride overtakes your soul and makes your heart hard

Psalm 59:12

For the sins of their mouths, for the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride. For the curses and lies they utter,

Human pride makes you step out before you should, instead of allowing God to work it through.

Proverbs 11:12

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

Pride makes a great presence but falls hard to destruction

Proverbs 16:8

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

How does God view pride?

Psalm 10:4

In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

Pride keeps you from knowing God is right and you are not.

Pride creeps it’s way into the mind of men, thus making them seemingly above others

Isaiah 2:11

The eyes of the arrogant will be humbled and human pride brought low; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.

Simply put pride just holds you hostage from seeing the bigger picture

In our love of others and sometimes disdain,

Where do you see pride holding you back from something or someone?

Shalom

Who Is The Great Influencer In Your Life?

There are many people in this world that influence your; life, first it’s your parents or caregivers, maybe it’s a sibling or close relative.  It could be someone you look up to like a popular Movie Star or public speaker, maybe a motivator. All these people influence our lives on a daily basis. We want to be like them or look like them, people we probably want to look like or be. That could most likely how our lives get shaped. As you get older you’ve learned and grown and that person is no longer influencing your life so much any more. Maybe that person changed or did something you didn’t agree with, then they become less in your mind and the search continues!

I remember for years listening to a popular speaker his motivational style was quite amazing to me. He was the type of guy who would say ”no limits” – the walk through fire type. I have to admit I used to hang onto every word because I thought he was opening my mind to endless possibilities.

I was putting my trust in his philosophy and motivation. I even had my brother listening to his audio tracks.

As I grew older I realized that not everything he said worked for me, this person didn’t know me or my thoughts and furthermore I felt as though his motivation was selling more of his books and programs than pointing me to really knowing who it was that was truly the motivator.

I’m not saying that the person that has opened your mind to possibilities is wrong but were they really guiding you to the one who created you?

Goals and dreams are great to have, but who is the one that directs your path?

Proverbs 3:6

in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Now I know there are people that are really doing great things in the world right now and we should always strive to do better in our lives but instead of looking up to them, why not look to who truly saved your soul?

Who is the ultimate hero of your life?

Jesus!

He is our motivator,

He is always with us,

He moves mountains no mere man can,

He loves us

He will never fail us in times of need.

That’s Christ who went to the cross for you and saved your life!

So as you think about who has influenced you through your life and were they lasting?

Were they there for you in every single aspect all the time?

                                                              Think…….

It is our Lord and Savior

Christ will never leave you or forsake you, look to Him to be the great influencer in your life!

Romans 12:2

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Shalom

Turbulent Times, Trust Jesus

Romans 15:13  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Where is the world headed these days? It seems as though things are getting more intense and out of control. But there is a hope for you and I, it’s the constant hope that Jesus is with us during these troubled, turbulent times.

When you look back on your life do you see that things are not as they were? Things are moving fast, people are making decisions without going to Jesus in Prayer. But I say to you, don’t let the world overtake you and seek Jesus, He will give you understand in the midst of a battle or stressed time.

When you don’t know the answer and don’t know where to turn, look to Jesus, He makes everything clear and new! There is no one on earth that knows you like Jesus does and He wants you to turn to Him in prayer. The battle is not yours, it’s His, Trust God.

Follow Jesus

2 Peter 2:1-3

False Teachers and Their Destruction
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.  In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

How true is this in our current day to hear false prophets push their own agenda promoting books asking to sow seed into their ministry, they boast about their own agenda, selling their ideas, not including the high God or giving Him the glory. Watch how someone conducts themselves are they Christ like in nature? Do you feel that something they have said sounds “off”? Be very careful and listen intently because the tongue reveals many things about the heart of the person and if you are not careful can sway you away from the Lord and His teachings.

It’s easy to encourage others to a life of victory, but truly, Jesus never said you would not face trials and tribulations, that’s what refines you, makes you stronger. I am going to boast to you right now… FOLLOW JESUS, not pastors, priests, people, statues, saints or anything else. FOLLOW JESUS, He is the only who can and will set you free.

Yom Kippur-Holy Day

Yom Kippur in the Jewish religion is the day set for atonement of sins, as you read below through parts of  Leviticus God gives Moses clear instructions on what to do and when to do them. There is a process that God had them follow and as we look on these sacred duties of the priests, begin by looking at verse 16 God has told Moses and given instruction for Aaron not to go into the Most Holy place whenever he wanted or he will die.

Leviticus 16 (NIV)

The Day of Atonement
16 The Lord spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron who died when they approached the Lord. 2 The Lord said to Moses: “Tell your brother Aaron that he is not to come whenever he chooses into the Most Holy Place behind the curtain in front of the atonement cover on the ark, or else he will die. For I will appear in the cloud over the atonement cover.

Let’s move down to verse 29 God tells them exact timing and instructions for this very Holy Day

29 “This is to be a lasting ordinance for you: On the tenth day of the seventh month you must deny yourselves[c] and not do any work—whether native-born or a foreigner residing among you— 30 because on this day atonement will be made for you, to cleanse you. Then, before the Lord, you will be clean from all your sins. 31 It is a day of sabbath rest, and you must deny yourselves; it is a lasting ordinance. 32 The priest who is anointed and ordained to succeed his father as high priest is to make atonement. He is to put on the sacred linen garments 33 and make atonement for the Most Holy Place, for the tent of meeting and the altar, and for the priests and all the members of the community.

34 “This is to be a lasting ordinance for you: Atonement is to be made once a year for all the sins of the Israelites.”

And it was done, as the Lord commanded Moses.

What does this mean for a Christian of today? God will always look at this His Holy Day, but He gave us Jesus as the sacrificial lamb, Jesus came in to die on the cross so that these Old Testament rules of sacrifice are obsolete, done-over.

How blessed are we that we don’t have to do this? Do you want to be forgiven of sins?  Pray “Jesus, I am a sinner, please forgive me, wash me clean and I make you my Lord and Savior”  as many have said one and done. No fasting, nothing held, except the love and sacrifice of Jesus for us on the cross.

Shalom to you on this day, Pray!

Having Faith Through Difficulty

These are difficult days, there will more ahead and we must all be prepared to lean more on God for everything. If you were depending on the world to make you happy that will almost always be an empty well, nothing will spring up from this world and what it offers. But if we hold steadfast to God’s word, we will be able to weather any storm ahead and be the beacon of light for others to see.

So that being said, Have Faith!

Hebrews 11:1 says Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

If we look back on the people in the Old Testament, we can read about what great faith the people of that time had and God being faithful, always gave them the hope that He would do what He promises. I love that, I love the assurance that God will do what He promises, He will never leave us or forsake us. That’s awesome!

Well I will be praying for you, no matter who you are and hoping that you will work on your faith, hold strong to it and you will see God work things out in your life you never thought were possible.

Shalom and much Christian love

Stand Firm For Jesus

These are the days that much prayer is needed, if we are to face what is ahead then we will need all of the things that God has promised us a boldness to stand with jesus for truth and justice.  I have to say that so many times the world has offered us a way to  grow in selfishness and at the end of getting what we want it’s always emptiness. But when you stand with God, your life will be forever His and the riches of this world will be a yesterday thought.

Having a rich relationship with jesus is the way to the Father, Jesus tells us this. But as the days of this world grow colder, we need to stand firm on Jesus, what His promises are and how to behave when the attacks of satan are coming our way. The boldness you show for Jesus will be recorded and spoken about in heaven, be assured, the way to the Father is through His one and only Son Jesus Christ.

Shalom and Happy- Ross Hashanna

Holy Ghost Movie

I had just viewed the Holy Ghost Movie made by Bethel.tv

I was amazed at the amount of evangelism and stepping out in faith these men were doing. From local to India sharing their faith of love of God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, faith, healing and indwelling of spiirt was so abundant in the film. It was about 184 minutes long but well worth it for the gospel message it produced.

I was also amazed at the people who were featured, the band Korn, as I recalled years back they were not very holy in anything they produced -but now, Christ has taken over their lives in spirit they are praying for people, healing in Jesus name and more! Talk about a transformation experience!

The message is clear in this movie, not about religion… it’s about relationship with Jesus. Please support this film.

Shalom

Center Yourself In Jesus

This weekend marks the end of a great summer, here in the east, it’s been glorious, we have had some great days!

As we wind down, it’s always time to think and refocus on what we have done during our summer, I know for myself it’s time to refocus and center my life in Jesus. In the early spring  left a church that I loved very dearly, loved the people and the great things that were being accomplished through some of my efforts of recruiting and speaking to others about Jesus. I had been convicted by a friend on “being on a slippery slope”and called out from the Holy Spirit to take leave of absence. It was extremely difficult. But now I go to a Gospel Church that is awesome and I am resting there.

But as the summer moved along, I realized that the temptation to go back to that church a few times, then I remembered why I left and the yoke of slavery I would have been under just working and not reaping all the Jesus had for me. So I resisted and still think so much about it, but I am so much better now just centering myself in Jesus.

Now I say to you are you centering yourself in Jesus? Have you put him aside for other things? Jesus tells us you cannot divide your loyalty as He said in Luke 16:13-“No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” My thought is Jesus is trying to tell us, make Him the center not the stuff of the world that distracts you.

Hope you have a great weekend my beloved!

Shalom
