Rejoice He Has Risen!

After Jesus died on the cross, a rich man named Joseph who was a disciple of Jesus went to Pilate and asked for Jesus body and he gave his new tomb over to Jesus and wrapped Him in clean linen cloth and rolled a stone in front of the tomb. After preparation  day the chief Priest and Pharisees went to Pilate to have the tomb guarded because they were afraid of what Jesus said about rising again after three days. So a guard was sent- but that wasn’t going to stop our Lord!

Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to the tomb after Sabbath at dawn, there was a violent earthquake and an Angel of the Lord came down from heaven and rolled back the stone and sat on it. He shone like lightening and they were afraid but the angel assured them not to be and that Jesus was no longer there that He Has Risen!

The angel tells them Jesus is going ahead of them into the city and to go tell the disciples. We can’t imagine the joy they must have felt knowing that the Lord has come back to life, He was resurrected from the dead, He Defeated Death and is the only Living God.

Make no mistake about it, the account of this part of His life should assure you that God loves you and that no matter what you have done you can go to Jesus and confess your sins and ask for His forgiveness and make Him your Lord and Savior.

Press on

2 Corinthians 4:8

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.

Many times when we feel as though there is no hope and see no end to what is happening as Paul says, press on. We have hope in Christ and that is where we set our goals. The things of this world will end for us all someday day but what hope is there in the things of this world? There is none.

There is only one hope and that is in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Far too many times we put our hope into the life we have and the people we know but that isn’t lasting, it’s Christ that fulfills the lasting things for your eternal life with Him.

In this way we can put our hope there and not foresee a bleak future but a glorious hope that is in Him.

Press on to that hope, press on to that place that Christ has led you to. For it is not flesh and blood that leads you to that hope but the Spirit of truth. The Spirit that sustains you in times of distress and hopelessness. But you see that God is the sustainer of all things and to only look to Him for all your hopes and needs.

When all things feel bleak, press on

When the future holds nothing but pain, press on

When you think you are alone in this world, you have the Holy Spirit, press on

When those who do not want to accept your sharing the Lord’s gospel, press on

When people turn their back on you, the Lord does not, press on

When someone lies about you or judges you, the Lord knows the truth, press on

Philippians 3:13-15

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.

The True Light

There was a popular fiction movie in 1990 called “Ghost” a man spends most of the movie trying to solve his murder and bring the men that did it to justice with the help of a psychic and at the end of the movie everything seems to be resolved, the psychic tells the Ghost to “go into the light”; the audience assumes the character is going into heaven.

Here’s the Truth

The fact is no one gets into the Kingdom of God for being good or nice or even if you saved a million people. You get into the Kingdom of God by your relationship with Jesus.

This is what Jesus says:

John 3:3

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

John 3:5

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

Plain and simple

You must be Born Again to see the Kingdom of God, there is no one on earth including your self that can save you, only Christ through His shed blood on the cross, and death and resurrection could do this.

 Mark 10:15

Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

If you feel frustrated and angry because you are reading this then this is doing it’s job because the point is for you to think long term about your eternal life. Your physical life is short but your spiritual life is eternal. God sees all you do good and bad and at the end of your life you are accountable for everything done even in secret.

Yes in secret, that means what you do that you think you can hide is not hidden from God. Listen all I am saying is this, you may be spending your life enjoying it and that’s what God wants us to do, but if you don’t have a relationship or not put God at the center of your life you aren’t going to see the true Kingdom. of God, not because I say but because Jesus says.

Matthew 7:13-14

The Narrow and Wide Gates

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Whoever has said I will go to Heaven and not believed in Jesus isn’t going to the true light. All else is false, follow Jesus It’s simple, repent of your sins and ask Jesus into your life, He will lead and guide you to the true light, His light and watch what he can do through your prayers and His promises to you. You will have trials but you will always have His peace and light.

John 8:12

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world.

Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Money & Possessions

Deuteronomy 8:18  But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

It’s amazing how sometimes we think because we work hard and try to accomplish great things, it’s because of our own efforts, our own strength but it is God that gives us the blessing of work, the ability to do this  and the money that we have. If you really think about it, what if you weren’t able to accomplish great things, would all the possessions count so much? What if you really didn’t have to have them, could you see your life resisting more, maybe even instead looking to your Father in heaven for not material blessings but spiritual ones. Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Money and possessions are short-term satisfaction, once achieved always looking for more of this and that. But truly if you spent time praying instead of looking at the things that can be bought and focus on your heavenly Father you will have blessings that aren’t temporary but eternal. Your final destination is what you truly should be looking at, and  your treasures here won’t help you to have a relationship with Jesus because you are focusing on the stuff that fades away and not the living water that is free and will last.

Luke 9:3 He told them: “Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt.

Jesus tells His disciples not to depend on “the stuff” but completely depend on Him. How hard is this for you, to say no to the things that you continue to run after but not a rich relationship and dependency on God your ultimate provider.

Acts 5:3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?

Oh and there’s trying to hold back from God, “I have made a lot of money in this deal, let me keep it, even though I promised some of it to charity”. There is nothing that you can do that God does not see. You can’t hide anything from His sight. So be very careful when you make promises to God and not follow through. Do you really need that new dress or shoes? Do you really need that state of the art TV or could you be feeding a child that’s been hungry for a week or a homeless shelter that needs food and clothes?

1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

What does all of this get you? More money, more stuff, more problems because the focus was on the things that entice you in this world instead of seeking what God would truly bless you with and give you peace, yes you can go hiking, on vacation and do the fun things that God has provided you, but you must also remember Jesus said store your treasure in heaven.

Matthew 6:19 Treasures in Heaven
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Heaven: Will You Enter?

There are many scriptures pointing to Jesus speaking about Heaven and who will see the Kingdom of God

Jesus tells us in-

Matthew 19:24 Again I tell you, it is hard for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. But it is even harder for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

Sin separates us from God, so as much as you love your life here on earth you will surely lose it and someday face Jesus in Heaven, will He let you in? Let’s see what Jesus says:

Luke 13:22-35

The Narrow Door
22 Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. 23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”

He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’

“But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’

27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’

28 “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. 29 People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. 30 Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”

Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Jesus has full authority from His Father in Heaven over us, He rules the heavens and the earth, He is the gatekeeper in The Highest Heaven of God’s Mighty Kingdom. When we put our trust in Him, make Him our Lord and Savior we are saved by the shedding of His Blood, set apart and holy.

But this isn’t just something that happens without your deep need for a Savior, you must dedicate yourself to Jesus as Lord and walk in God’s ways. It is not something we work for, when we trust in Christ as Savior we are saved by Grace not by anything you do, you can’t gain entry in by working your way into Heaven, it’s by the Blood of Christ that you are saved.

Ephesians 2:6 God raised us up with Christ. He has seated us with him in his heavenly kingdom. That’s because we belong to Christ Jesus.

So guard your hearts and mind in Christ Jesus, your life can be transformed and you will be tested like fire for your durability to serve Him in this world. Do you think you will enter in and sit with Christ?

Please God, Live Forever

1 John 2:17

And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave.

But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.

God has given us such an amazing planet to enjoy. The beauty is outstanding in all four corners of the earth, but as we know, the earth is fading away and we draw closer to heaven, which is or real home.

But how about the people we know that put their faith in this world and what it provides? Yes we could see it all and never be satisfied, we could have every luxury that we set our eyes on. We could try to stay as youthful as possible, for some changing their appearance just to stay as young for as long as possible.

The question is, how long do you think the world will sustain you? Do you thirst for Christ? Since He is the living water, the bread from Heaven and with Him we can be set free from the desires of this world and set on a heavenly home ahead. The things of this world are empty, but with Christ are fulfilling!

Have you given yourself over to Christ? Have you prayed the sinners prayer which is,

Jesus, please forgive me of my sins, I want to make you the Lord of my life, with you I know that I am saved and transformed daily by your love. Amen.

When you come to Christ, your life becomes renewed, it’s a journey and process of transformation every day, so don’t give up or give in, the rewards are beyond great, not here on earth but ahead in heaven.

False Prophets

These days are getting pretty intense, as we see many things that are against God. But   we must stand firm in the word of God, do not waver. Because many people will be claiming that they are true prophets but they are not, they are false teachers and how you know is they will slip and say something that isn’t what God says, it’s their own philosophy. Don’t be fooled because they preach a sermon or book title that has their own ideas in it. So the questions you must ask are:

Is what they say line up with what God says?

Are they promoting their book or way and profiting by it?

Are they promoting Jesus and urging you to follow Him?

Do they seem to have the answer and you don’t confirm this with what God says?

Does the speaker or teacher lead you into wanting to know more about God?

Do they ask for a $ amount to sow a seed in their ministry and say that God will bless you double portion or some other way, amount?

Do you have a relationship with Jesus?

Do you think if you go to church every week but still don’t know Jesus intimately will save you or get you into Heaven?

Do you think praying to saints will get you into Heaven?

Do you seek God on an everyday basis and pray?

Do they promise Victory?

If you put your faith in false teaching, you are deceived and don’t have the kind of relationship that Jesus wants to be in with you today. Stop reading garbage, start reading the Bible and fill your mind with God’s promises! You can and will live in peace. But that does not mean that you will not face trials, but when you are in the trial and you have the word of God, you know how to handle it. The anxiety isn’t there because you know who fights your battles. Don’t look to the world for the answer, look to God.

Stand Firm For Jesus

These are the days that much prayer is needed, if we are to face what is ahead then we will need all of the things that God has promised us a boldness to stand with jesus for truth and justice.  I have to say that so many times the world has offered us a way to  grow in selfishness and at the end of getting what we want it’s always emptiness. But when you stand with God, your life will be forever His and the riches of this world will be a yesterday thought.

Having a rich relationship with jesus is the way to the Father, Jesus tells us this. But as the days of this world grow colder, we need to stand firm on Jesus, what His promises are and how to behave when the attacks of satan are coming our way. The boldness you show for Jesus will be recorded and spoken about in heaven, be assured, the way to the Father is through His one and only Son Jesus Christ.

Shalom and Happy- Ross Hashanna

When God Abandons A Nation- Part 1

The Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah- Part 1

Jeremiah 7:27 When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you. when you call to them, they will not answer. Therefore say to them, “This is the nation that has not obeyed the Lord it’s God or responded to correction. Truth has perished, it has vanished from their lips. Cut off your hair and throw it away: take up a lament on the barren heights, for the Lord has rejected and abandoned this generation that is under his wrath.

If you don’t know anything about Jeremiah the Bible tells us he was a messenger and the Lord came to him about Jerusalem and the wickedness of their ways, such as adultery, worship of other gods and stars with  immorality in  shame. God told Jeremiah to warn the people to turn back to Him and give up their wickedness, repent, shave their heads in mourning. But as the story continues, the countless warnings with ignorance and pride the people with their King and priests just turned away. God wanted them back, God is jealous-even today.

Looking at all of this, I have to think about how many people are living way beyond even what those people were doing, with advancement in technology, crime and riches, people today have forgotten God- this is being said to the non believers consider  a relationship with God, today. He is jealous of everything you are distracted by, which is controlling your thoughts and you are forgetting Him.  stop, take a long look at your life right now and consider what eternity will look like for you. You have everything, but you have nothing if you don’t have a rich relationship with Jesus, clearly in Jeremiah the people forgot how to worship, they thought everything was cool, life was good in their world.

I am going to stop here and continue on next post about what God saw and how he reacted to the Nation that abandons God.

Are You Feeling The Blessing?

It’s that time of year, that time when everyone is getting ready for this Night, Christmas Eve. But lately when I am out, I am not seeing much of the joyful experience that God wants us to have. It feels like the spirit of Christmas, of our Savior’s Birth is just something that people feel obligated to fulfill through gift giving, pressure and the stress of getting it all done in time.

Now, think about this, when God determined the time of Jesus to be born, the world was also in chaos, wasn’t it? the Romans were taking over everything, just havoc everywhere and the people of Israel still faithful, waited for the coming foretold King that Isaiah the Prophet had told them about. so waiting was in their sight, the pressure of the times were so great, so many sufferings, so much worldly desires of the time.

So here comes Mary, a humble, loving human being, of no noble birth, but chosen to bear a Savior for the world. what a huge time for the world, unknown to man that The King of the universe will be born in a manger and of humble, surroundings.  The  faith of the two people who carried this unborn child to the place of the manger were chosen by God for this purpose. Think about how they felt, put yourself in their place. They didn’t know what to do but to hold on and live by faith and guidance of God. Now the reason for this is that God wants us to know that no matter where we are in this season, He will be there for you. The world holds many things, luxuries, gold and silver but God is everlasting and the stress you are feeling, the depression that holds you bound will dissipate when you have mighty faith as Joseph and Mary and that you are blessed because of this, that they did in faith.

Now, look at the things you have done in the last couple of days, with all this in mind, are you really praising and looking at the whole picture of what God has done for you? He sent His Son humbly into the world to define you, to die for all your sins, coming into the world and leaving in the same way, humbly, no shame and bearing all sins.

So I am saying to you, feel the blessing Immanuel is with us. AMEN
