Press on

2 Corinthians 4:8

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.

Many times when we feel as though there is no hope and see no end to what is happening as Paul says, press on. We have hope in Christ and that is where we set our goals. The things of this world will end for us all someday day but what hope is there in the things of this world? There is none.

There is only one hope and that is in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Far too many times we put our hope into the life we have and the people we know but that isn’t lasting, it’s Christ that fulfills the lasting things for your eternal life with Him.

In this way we can put our hope there and not foresee a bleak future but a glorious hope that is in Him.

Press on to that hope, press on to that place that Christ has led you to. For it is not flesh and blood that leads you to that hope but the Spirit of truth. The Spirit that sustains you in times of distress and hopelessness. But you see that God is the sustainer of all things and to only look to Him for all your hopes and needs.

When all things feel bleak, press on

When the future holds nothing but pain, press on

When you think you are alone in this world, you have the Holy Spirit, press on

When those who do not want to accept your sharing the Lord’s gospel, press on

When people turn their back on you, the Lord does not, press on

When someone lies about you or judges you, the Lord knows the truth, press on

Philippians 3:13-15

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.

Shalom

Never Thirst Again

An ordinary day in an extraordinary way, Jesus and his disciples walk through a town in Samaria called Sychar, walking along the road He tells them to go ahead into town and get food for them. Jesus sat down at Jacob’s well for a drink

But it was more than a drink; there was a divine appointment at the well.

There He sat and a Samaritan woman came along to fetch water, Jesus asked her for a drink, she replied “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman, how can you ask me for a drink? John4: 9 (because Jews didn’t associate with Samaritans)

Jesus answered “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water.” John 4:10

How often is it that Jesus invites us to drink of His living water, to sit in His presence and know Him?

  • Do you seek this?

The woman was seeking for the Messiah to come and save them, but suddenly there He was asking her for a drink, offering her eternal life.

Would you recognize Jesus if He spoke to your heart?

She went for water, Jesus had something better for her, Jesus offers eternal life. Everything that is on earth is put here for you, for your pleasure as God gives it to us but life here is not lasting. Jesus offers us eternal life.

Jesus meets us in times of our lives that are unexpected, but just like the woman at the well in need of the living water, are you running after things that will satisfy you only temporarily or are you seeking Jesus?

Only Jesus can satisfy our thirst through the living water He provides.

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

John 4:13-14

Do You See Results Of Prayer?

It’s not a coincidence that you are reading this today. You may be one of those that just don’t pray enough and think you should or if you pray you don’t seem to be getting the answer you think you should.

~Have you ever thought what would God want me to pray for?

~~Have you ever looked at this through God’s eyes?

Psalm 6:9

The Lord has heard my cry for mercy;
    the Lord accepts my prayer.

He wants you to pray and wait for His timing in a specific situation, waiting for answers are not easy, we run out of patience but that’s where God works in us to give us patience and provide us time to see a situation and work towards an outcome that we may not understand right now but will be revealed at another time.

There are types of prayers as well. There is a prayer of thanksgiving for all that you have and all He has given and still will be giving to you in the future days.

Have you thought about the things that God has prevented from happening to you? Or the accident you just missed, a situation that you thought you would never see the light from, have you thanked Him and for that gift of protection from something bad happening to you?

God sees all things, He knows what’s happening in your life but you haven’t turned to Him in prayer and asked for His leading because you find yourself leading your own life and ignoring what He has given to you.

Believing that God is working in your life leads to persistent prayer and waiting.

1 Peter 1:17

Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear.

To ignore God in any way doesn’t lead to good decisions in a life lived for self-gain or desires. But to seek God in everything sheds light on situations that you clearly thought there was no escape from, He leads you out into the green grass and gives you hope for a future and blesses you with gifts, but if you are too busy not to pray or call on Him for His help, you will continue to go down a blind path until one day he shows you that you need Him, desperately. A life lived without Him is not a life lived. It’s just living. So grab your coffee my friend and go read God’s word and see what he really does for you and you will pray to Him and seek Him more often. May the Lord bless you and keep you in His sight as you grow in your relationship with Him.

Mark 11:24

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Simply To Pray

Sometimes the problems of the world are overwhelming and in prayer I ask God what can I do to help the overwhelming amount of people in need?

God tells us:                             Simply to pray.

To acknowledge how fortunate we are to live a free life when others are bound by unrealistic laws, slavery, communism and prison. Not knowing what their future will hold, It is hard to take it all in, to understand what they are going through and how they are holding on to the One hope they have, Jesus.

But what can we do?             Simply to Pray

Some people have faced devastating earthquakes, hurricanes, floods loss of homes, families and many other calamities. We don’t even know the half of what is happening and what people are facing in and around the 10 square miles of our own homes. but what can we do if we don’t know what to do?

Simply to Pray

In a world filled with all these calamities and unjust acts against humanity the soul can only do what the Father drives them to do. We can act first without the guidance or we can Simply Pray and from there God will guide us to what we can do, it could be small it could be bigger, but whatever it is we follow Jesus’ calling in it all.

May the glory of God bring to light what is hidden in the darkness and drive you to the understanding that we are here to serve the One True God that’s Jesus Christ and that my brothers and sisters is whom we are guided by in all ways.

Romans 1:10

in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you.

Shalom

The Joy in Simple Things

The greatest joy in life is the small things that we take for granted. Some people think there is extreme joy in winning the lottery, maybe so, but when the money is gone where is the joy? The joy is gone and so is the money. (Maybe people too)

So how would someone like us think of joy in simple things?

Look at the food that you love to eat? Is it not a joy to be able to open up the frig whenever you want and have something you like?

Isn’t it a joy when someone calls you and brightens your day?

Isn’t it a joy when your pets come to you in unconditional love?

Isn’t it a jot when your family is around you?

Isn’t it a joy when you get ready to make plans and leave on a trip?

Isn’t it a joy to have friends that care about you?

Maybe it’s having that first cup of coffee in the morning.

This could go on and on but the truth is, who provides these small joys?

God does!

Psalm 16:11

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

But when we take these things for granted we are not honoring the one who gave them to us. There is joy in all that God creates but we must remember the one that provides the joys and to be grateful in thanksgiving and prayer.

My prayer for you today is this Praise God for the simple joys in your life, stop and think about them and remember not to take pride in them, but praise Jesus for what He has done and through His grace gave you joy.

Shalom

Held Captive By Sin

Sin can hold it’s grasp on you when you let what drives you to it take over your life. Maybe you are that person that says there is nothing wrong with what you are doing but deep down sin has got it’s hold on you.

Sadly that’s what sin does, it’s blinding to those who know no escape and allow the world and how they feel to dictate what is right. With no escape from the grasp how will you know if it is right or wrong?

The only way to know if you are doing the right thing is to ask God to come into your life and speak to your heart and to bring His light to the circumstances in which you live and to ask your self what does this thing that I know may be wrong doing to myself and those around me. Am I following my way or is it God’s way?

With sin, God always provides an escape.

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

With following your way the hole you dig gets deeper and deeper so you can no longer see the light on the sin, you walk in the darkness. But God provides the light and He shines His light on the sin to help you overcome it. That’s why we go to Him in prayer for clarity and help.

Isaiah 29:15

Woe to those who go to great depths
to hide their plans from the Lord,
who do their work in darkness and think,
“Who sees us? Who will know?”

God is willing to lift you up to see what you are doing and help you out of that pit but first you must ask Him to shine light on your life and to forgive you for the sin you are doing and have done.

Acts 13:38

“Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.

My prayer for you is simply this: Let the light of Christ shine down on you and may His grace be forthcoming in your life through the forgiveness of sins. Break free from the grasp of a sin led life to the love of Christ, following Him all the days of your life.

Trusting God Through Problems

The hardest part of waiting for God through your problems is trusting Him for the results. Often times when I see myself in past situations I think that God allowed time to work through whatever was going on.

It’s our nature to want to hurry things along, to put a bandaid on situations and try to resolve them ourselves but when we trust God we wait on God ,we can have the assurance that He will handle whatever it is we go to Him for.

It’s times like the trials that really test your faith. Maybe it’s because God clearly tries to get your attention to go to Him in Prayer. Often we look to ourselves to solve things but it is God we must seek to remedy any thing that is in our way.

Believe God can do it!

During personal trials I have seen Him turn situations around in the midst of some pretty hard stuff. I’ve also realized that when things are getting out of control, that’s when we really call on Him to step in and lean in on him. Never feel that God can’t answer right away, He can and does.

When God is silent

When God is silent our thoughts turn to that of His not being near, but He is right with us, His presence never ceasing, it is He that gives us strength in turbulent times.

When the battle and the trials end, think of how you got through them, how you were changed and grew to understand your strength because of trusting Him.

May your day be a blessing to you and to everyone you meet.

Shalom
