A Man Reaps What He Sows

Galatians 6:7-8

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

The environment in which we live where sin is tolerated and people live for themselves then how can they wonder why they are not receiving the blessing they think they deserve?

What is sowing for God mean?

It means that the believer goes out into the world and plants seeds of the word of God into the minds of people around them. Surely many do this but how many times have you had an opportunity to speak with someone about God and you thought it wasn’t a good idea?

 Galatians 6:9-10

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

We have the mind of Christ and that means that each person deserves to be awakened to what He wants them to know, then they decide for themselves if this truth that they are hearing is that of the Holy Spirit.

So let us not be weary in planting the seeds among those who are perishing so that we may be the aroma of Christ, instead of the smell of death. 2 Corinthians 2:15-16

Each one of us has been appointed to step up in someone’s life and bring him or her to Christ, listen for the Holy Spirit’s prompting and allow Him to save a life from doom and everlasting destruction.

It’s A Choice

One of the questions I have for you today is:

What has God gifted you with as a task of doing to glorify His name?

You might think, well, I’m not a pastor, or an Elder, I don’t work in a church or do anything directly associated with spreading the gospel to others, how can what I do be glorifying the Lord in any way?

First of all, you are His and because you are His He gives you the tools in your everyday life to show His glory. When you do your job at any type work whether it’s at home or in your paying job you are glorifying His name by the way you conduct yourself in the presence of others and being present in their lives.

Not everyone has to be a famous preacher or writer to influence the people around you, God has given you the unique privilege to stand on His behalf to do what He has put in front of you this day. It’s so simple just be obedient to His will and He will direct your path in what you do each day.

2 Corinthians 9:13

13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.

God has a personal journey for each of us, not everyone’s journey will be the same, and He places you where He needs you to flourish for His glory. Maybe sitting in an office isn’t where you thought you would end up but God needs you there for a reason. Instead of thinking about how it’s a torture, think of it as a mission field ready and ripe for what he can do right there.

2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

So I say to you, hold on to what God has given you and use that gift that’s what separates you from others that unique gift God can use in this world to bring others closer to His one and only Son.

The True Light

There was a popular fiction movie in 1990 called “Ghost” a man spends most of the movie trying to solve his murder and bring the men that did it to justice with the help of a psychic and at the end of the movie everything seems to be resolved, the psychic tells the Ghost to “go into the light”; the audience assumes the character is going into heaven.

Here’s the Truth

The fact is no one gets into the Kingdom of God for being good or nice or even if you saved a million people. You get into the Kingdom of God by your relationship with Jesus.

This is what Jesus says:

John 3:3

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

John 3:5

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

Plain and simple

You must be Born Again to see the Kingdom of God, there is no one on earth including your self that can save you, only Christ through His shed blood on the cross, and death and resurrection could do this.

 Mark 10:15

Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

If you feel frustrated and angry because you are reading this then this is doing it’s job because the point is for you to think long term about your eternal life. Your physical life is short but your spiritual life is eternal. God sees all you do good and bad and at the end of your life you are accountable for everything done even in secret.

Yes in secret, that means what you do that you think you can hide is not hidden from God. Listen all I am saying is this, you may be spending your life enjoying it and that’s what God wants us to do, but if you don’t have a relationship or not put God at the center of your life you aren’t going to see the true Kingdom. of God, not because I say but because Jesus says.

Matthew 7:13-14

The Narrow and Wide Gates

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Whoever has said I will go to Heaven and not believed in Jesus isn’t going to the true light. All else is false, follow Jesus It’s simple, repent of your sins and ask Jesus into your life, He will lead and guide you to the true light, His light and watch what he can do through your prayers and His promises to you. You will have trials but you will always have His peace and light.

John 8:12

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world.

Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Removing The Veil, To See Christ

In a perishing world there is only one hope and that hope is in Christ. We are experiencing life in fast motion and if we don’t step back and realize that we are the light of Christ for others in this dark world.

The Veil

 2 Corinthians 3:13

We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away.

Before anyone comes to Christ our minds are veiled, veiled to Him and wanting to know Him more. Seeking the things of this world for our happiness, turning away when someone talks about Him to you and thinking that Jesus doesn’t care, that He doesn’t direct your life you do.

2 Corinthians 3:14

But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.

Those who believe in Him have life, others will seek after the things of this world which will never give you peace. There is only Christ who gives everlasting hope and takes the veil of everyday living off your eyes so that you can see Him plainly .

2 Corinthians 3:15

Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.

To those who do not believe in Christ there will never be freedom, turning from Christ your life is veiled you will not listen to the true message of the Holy Spirit as He speaks to you , thus bound by your unbelief.

2 Corinthians 3:16-17

But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.  Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

To those who think that hearing about Christ is foolishness those who turn away will not see the glory of God. The word of God is covered to them and may seek knowledge of man’s thoughts or words but true wisdom comes only from a love for Christ and a relationship with Him.

2 Corinthians 4:3

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

To those who are perishing, the god of this age will always have a hold on you, that god you seek after is anything that isn’t Christ, it’s the thing that keeps your mind busy and focused away from seeking truth which is found only in the gospel.

 2 Corinthians 4:4

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

When we seek in trying to find happiness in things of the world and when that fails (and it will) we are confident that Christ never fails, He is always with us, when believers speak the truth in Christ, listen to what the Spirit is trying to tell say about Him, it could save your life.

What Does It Mean To Be Reconciled To God?

We spend much of our lives living for what we want and need, it is the human nature that we are before we came to Christ. As you begin to want to know more about Him and come to some heavy crossroads in your own understanding of what He did for us all.

He died a criminals death, having no sin at all, bearing everyone’s sins on Himself, allowing you to be free to live a life for Him , giving up your old lives and reconciling yourself to Jesus. Then becoming a new creation in Christ as you live for Him.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Before Christ, the Jews lived in their old sinful lives, here Paul tells us that no longer is the way to God, Christ dies for all,

2 Corinthians 5:18

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:

therefore we live a reconciled life with Him not counting sins against us. Our freedom is in Christ Jesus through a reconciled life, another words following Him, knowing Him and Loving Him.

 2 Corinthians 5:19

that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

Who among men lives lives worthy of reconciliation? All those who come to Christ freely laying all your bad behavior, your acts of selfishness and lives lived only for yourself and not God. All this Christ is what died for. As you live your lives and go about your day, remember who gave Himself up for you so that you could have eternal life.

2 Corinthians 5:20

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Be The Light of Christ for all to see

Sadly many will read this and go back to your own way of life, maybe some of you are serving God in ways that aren’t your true calling, God will reveal His calling to you through prayer and is calling you to Himself right now, all day ,everyday.

To forget what He did for you is a sin that’s turning you away from God.

 2 Corinthians 5:21

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

God wants that relationship with you now , turn your life over to Him and always remember that we are precious in His sight and what he took for us is the ultimate price paid in full. God’s one and only Son, Jesus did this, thus reconciling us to Himself

How God Helps You Endure Struggles

Everyone is going through and has been through some tough struggling, whether it be a loss of a loved one a traumatic experience or financial setbacks believe it or not, you are learning endurance and growth.

Maybe you are thinking how can I be growing through this horrendous time, how is God showing up for me during this and why is He leaving me in this?

Honestly we can never know what is in the mind of God and what is behind the things that happen in our lives and how we can possibly endure such pain or trials.

I want to tell you, God is with you during this in every way possible because loving God puts you in a place like no other; He takes what is bad and makes it good showing His glory through it.

I know, how you wonder?

Well let me tell you, hardship, burden, struggling -will pass, but joy is the ultimate outcome in the end.

You may have been praying for something to happen for months, years and where was God? He wasn’t showing up but for good reason, sometimes what we pray for just isn’t good for us. So we pray more and wait, nothing happens…. Is there a commonality here? Stop praying for that one thing , He has heard you and it has been recorded in heaven Psalm 56:8 Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll, are they not in your record? and ask God to heal the circumstance, to change your heart and make you more like Him in everyway you will see His glory and glorify Him when the trial passes.

Romans 15:30

I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.

God gives us patient endurance and maybe you will never see the very thing you have waited for, but abundance in every other way, do you see the abundance not the thing you seek so hard to acquire?

May you see this as a blessing gift and that God will be glorified in the very things you receive and don’t receive. Struggle equals growth.

Through every circumstance seek God and pray continuously.

Shalom, Nancy

Who said your life was going to be easy?

We come into this world with nothing and if we are blessed enough will have people that help us along the way. That’s a gift that maybe some have overlooked and taken advantage of.

Then a time comes when you have to stand on your feet or leave that situation and you simply don’t want to break from what you have always thought was a stable relationship or living arrangement, that’s hard especially when things were going well.

You might even have held out as long as possible, avoiding what you have to face finding out that disappointment is coming when you face challenges that are bigger than you can handle. Breaking free, it’s not easy.

Have you made up your mind that what you have always had, you are going to always have, but it may not be necessarily true. Standing on your feet in the midst of storms isn’t easy, but very necessary because it strengthens you for what is ahead and how you handle it, this is where you find the lessons.

What if you have a difficult manager/ boss that rides you all the time? Are you going to walk away because people in your life have buffered that zone for you? Again the lesson for you is in how you handle it. It’s standing on your feet and making decisions.

Maybe someone close to you like a spouse, friend or family isn’t very nice to you, do you walk away in disappointment or anger or do you stand firm and try to understand where they are at and be forgiving or breaking free from difficult people.

In our lives are many lessons from birth to death and how we mature through the lessons along the way. Have you learned from it and able to handle it better or are you still depending on someone for help that maybe that person isn’t capable anymore of handling. Consider others and how they would feel and begin to stand on your own feet, learning and looking at how these circumstances are growing you.

Someone might be throwing you out of the nest right now!

It’s what you do in your life, how you grow through difficulty and maintain integrity that brings you to a whole different level. Asking God for strength in times of difficulty will grow you and help you to understand that all comes from God, your pleasure, joy and those difficult situations, He is growing you and shaping your life in ways that strengthen you for this journey ahead so that we no longer feel the need to always depend on others but always depend on God, do this in a simple prayer of asking.

You aren’t in this life for things to be easy and God doesn’t make your life that way, He said we will have trials, go to Him praise Him in storms and in all things given to you. Depend on God!

Philippians 3:15

All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.
