|Lately, I have been noticing that many are saying how much they need God and prayer, as people we seek the Lord when we find ourselves in desperate need of an answer. Many prayers of God’s people get answered, many don’t and we don’t know why, it’s a mystery only through God’s leading will you understand this.
Today I want to share this Parable that Jesus spoke about to His disciples called the Four Soils. Starting at verse 4-8 – these verses may be difficult to understand, that’s why the disciples asked plainly “What do you mean?”.
4 While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: 5 “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. 6 Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.”
When he said this, he called out, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”
9 His disciples asked him what this parable meant.
Are you wondering as well?
10 He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that,
“‘though seeing, they may not see;
though hearing, they may not understand.’
11 “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing, they fall away. 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
Are You Firmly Rooted
I’m seeing this in many people, they believe and pray to God for needs or when things are really bad, then when everything starts to look better, they turn away from God and turn back to their life again. These easier days will not last, things happen, the bottom falls out or some other problem comes up, where is the root?
Stand firm in God’s word and you will see your life change, so do circumstances, keep trusting God, stay firm, let your roots grow deep and pray. Become fruit for God to use in other people’s lives when they need that hope and firm foundation.
People and things always disappoint but God never disappoints, put your faith and your life into His hands as He guides you along,, in peace and in every situation.

If you haven’t been watching the Olympics you are missing out on seeing the amazing physical endurance of these athletes from around the world, they train for years to get an opportunity to compete with the best of the best.
They endure pain and suffering, intense workouts and failures as well as triumphs through out their training. No one really knows the preparation that goes behind the process of standing strong in that struggle.
The same goes for us. We endure many trials and some do strength training in the gym or on the job as well as in our relationships and with people we don’t know. We can prepare for what may happen but we can never know the outcome, just like the many athletes in the games.
But, the most important overall is not just the physical training, but the spiritual training and many people neglect to even try to understand what that is. The spiritual training comes form reading the word of God. The tools that God has given to us for mental equipping are far beyond our understanding but God holds the answers in His word.
So if you are feeling depressed, neglected, overwhelmed, in pain or sorrow, you can bring the word of God into your mind to strengthen you. You can pray and ask for direction and God whom you have trusted will answer you in the ways He knows you need.
Spiritual Fitness isn’t just something you do when you think about it; you must exercise this part of your relationship with God everyday. Pray and ask for direction, read a part of the gospel that can strengthen you for instance where Jesus says He prays for you (John 17:9) or maybe you just want to see a chapter in the Old Testament where God steps in and defeats an army or heals a person. This is not just beneficial to religious people; it’s beneficial to you in every way.
The Bible is a gift from God to you, to lead and guide through this life
and for your eternal journey.
4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

Recently I heard a sermon about the prophet Elijah, he was a famous prophet of God, and he had blessed him with gifts of healing, power and prophecy.
Elijah was given strength to withstand the opposition of the wicked King Ahab, he was not afraid when he had Ahab call all 450 prophets of their god, Baal and 400 prophets of Asherah to go up to join him at Mount Carmel, for them to call out to their gods through worship and sacrifice, just to see who is really God and follow Him.
But they received no answer from their gods as Elijah tells them the one true God will answer by fire on the sacrifice he instructed them to set up, and that is just what God did, in the most miraculous way. 1 Kings 18:38
God gave Elijah the strength to kill all the false prophets of wicked Ahab and his wife Jezebel. Elijah had the strength of the Lord in him giving him the knowledge to bear witness for the Lord. Upon hearing about the slaying of the prophets, Jezebel sends a messenger to Elijah- “I will make your life like that of one of them.” 1 Kings 19:2
Hearing this, Elijah ran, forgetting just what happened at Mount Carmel, he was scared and he took his eyes off the One who is controlling the situation.
Don’t we all tend to do this? Something great happens; we know that God has given this to us. But as soon as something we don’t understand we lose sight of God’s sovereignty over us, because we believe what we can see instead of believing in the one who we cannot.
Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.”
It’s so easy to look at your circumstances and allow them to consume your every thought; we must re direct our thoughts to remember that God is in charge of everything, every situation, good and bad. We have seasons of learning, adjusting, growing, healing and loss.
As you go through situations where you just want to “run” remember to be still, God is over it as you keep trusting in His way and not your own.

There is nothing like going through difficulty in any circumstance that kicks us in the butt more than our own pride. Pride holds us hostage to it, we hold on to something we just don’t want to give up. Sadly many relationships have been destroyed because someone didn’t let go of some pride or judgment they were holding.
The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.
Pride destroys opportunities, you may have something amazing in your sights, ready to grasp, but there’s something that you just can’t get from it that you feel you should. Then you may grumble because it’s not what you thought it should be.
Pride can prevent a person from making a positive, life changing experience.
That’s pride showing up just to flatten out what could have been something great.
“Otherwise, you may say in your heart, ‘My power and the strength of my hand made me this wealth.’ “But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
When sitting in pride others can feel it thus not opening their hearts to what could be a meaningful relationship, or making false assumptions about someone or something, as…
Pride can hold you back from loving or forgiving someone.
Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.
Pride overtakes your soul and makes your heart hard
For the sins of their mouths, for the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride. For the curses and lies they utter,
Human pride makes you step out before you should, instead of allowing God to work it through.
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
Pride makes a great presence but falls hard to destruction
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
How does God view pride?
In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
Pride keeps you from knowing God is right and you are not.
Pride creeps it’s way into the mind of men, thus making them seemingly above others
The eyes of the arrogant will be humbled and human pride brought low; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.
Simply put pride just holds you hostage from seeing the bigger picture
In our love of others and sometimes disdain,
Where do you see pride holding you back from something or someone?

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again”
What does it mean to be Born Again?
When Jesus comes into your behavior begins to change. You no longer seek out things of the world. Jesus transforms you with a desire to seek Him , want an intimate relationship with Him and as you do, He begins to reshape you by taking away a hateful mind and opening your heart up to love, just as though you were a reborn child, not corrupted by the world yet.
Jesus transforms your worldly thinking into godly thinking,
You don’t depend on the world for your happiness,
Jesus fulfills all your needs.
You no longer seek the things that used to make you happy,
you seek the desires that only Jesus fulfills.
He gives you a heart for Him, instead of pushing Him away you begin to
need Jesus more and depend on Him.
He gives you a love for others, where you despised and hated someone or some thing
you begin to look at it like He did, with compassion and understanding.
Money no longer drives you like it used to, you need it to live but it’s not everything to you because ……Jesus is.
Jesus takes away pride and replaces it with humbleness.
Your relationships change because you are changing, instead of pointing the finger, you see situations in a different light, you no longer have a desire to be doing what you used to do and the situations that used to upset you Jesus changes you to begin to forgive and understand.
Only Jesus can do this transforming work.
Sin is a wall between you and God, your heart can’t get transformed unless you totally let go, ask God for forgiveness. Humbling yourself is the first step in letting Jesus take the wheel of your life.
- Lay it down at the feet of Jesus. He will give you rest.
- Seek His love
- See your life transformed
- Be His light to others
- Leave it all at the foot of the cross
“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

Sin can hold it’s grasp on you when you let what drives you to it take over your life. Maybe you are that person that says there is nothing wrong with what you are doing but deep down sin has got it’s hold on you.
Sadly that’s what sin does, it’s blinding to those who know no escape and allow the world and how they feel to dictate what is right. With no escape from the grasp how will you know if it is right or wrong?
The only way to know if you are doing the right thing is to ask God to come into your life and speak to your heart and to bring His light to the circumstances in which you live and to ask your self what does this thing that I know may be wrong doing to myself and those around me. Am I following my way or is it God’s way?
With sin, God always provides an escape.
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
With following your way the hole you dig gets deeper and deeper so you can no longer see the light on the sin, you walk in the darkness. But God provides the light and He shines His light on the sin to help you overcome it. That’s why we go to Him in prayer for clarity and help.
Woe to those who go to great depths
to hide their plans from the Lord,
who do their work in darkness and think,
“Who sees us? Who will know?”
God is willing to lift you up to see what you are doing and help you out of that pit but first you must ask Him to shine light on your life and to forgive you for the sin you are doing and have done.
“Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.
My prayer for you is simply this: Let the light of Christ shine down on you and may His grace be forthcoming in your life through the forgiveness of sins. Break free from the grasp of a sin led life to the love of Christ, following Him all the days of your life.

1 Corinthians 1:9
God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
How does God call you into service everyday?
Do you feel God is not calling you to use your talents for Him?
Do you feel as though you are drawing a blank as to what the next move is?
And do you feel as though you are waiting on God for confirmation, as to how He will use you?
Here are a couple of hints that may be holding you back internally from hearing a clear call:
Which can prevent us from doing something God knows can be done, he will only give to us what He thinks we can handle. He has the plan and knows what you can do to glorify Him.
Missing the divine Appointment
Have you ever prayed and waited for God to send someone to you that needs to know about Him and He does but you totally miss it?
Thankfully he gives us another opportunity to minister and through the Holy Spirit’s prodding you know to respond.
A BIG call vs. an Everyday Call
Everyone’s call is different and God may call us for kind acts of service. Like calling someone that’s alone or how about bringing a meal and spending time with someone who needs it.
How about taking care of a child so a couple can go on a date night.
Every little thing we do, God sees it all, so when you think no one cares that you did something for him or her, just remember who is really seeing all of it and that’s Jesus.
Being a parent or a grandparent is significant in God’s eyes, He gave you these little ones to watch over as a gift and taking care of them is a call. Shaping them to know Christ is a call, teaching them about the Bible is a call. Loving them is a huge call.
A dear woman recently told me at one time in her life she was looking for the Big call and thought it was more important than the little things she did everyday.
But then she said,“ I don’t look to do the big things anymore, I just wake up and say, Use me Jesus in this day.”
If God wanted all of us to be doing Big things for Him he would call you to that, but how great are small everyday blessings that we can share that glorify God, every day.
We don’t know what a wonderful part we play in the lives of others and that we could be the glue that holds them together. The rock in which they go to for guidance and help.
So when we think that what we do doesn’t matter, God sees everything done under the sun. He sees what we are doing for others just like He wants us to do. To be a light among those who might be falling into darkness. That’s a call, stepping into His Call For Everyday service
Psalm 10:4 In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
Lately I have been observing many people that put themselves on a platform and seek the admiration and glory for the things they have done, their accomplishments and the things they have acquired, totally leaving out God and what He has done in their lives, the things they have done come from His hand not by human efforts.
But that’s not what people think, they are proud of their accomplishments, boasting and bragging and taking credit when the glory should have gone to the Father who provides it.
Life is a gift and what we do here and accomplish should always be for His glorification and praise, that’s a sure mark of humbleness and we need to be more humble and stop thinking that the things of this life, the praise that we get isn’t for our good but for the good of following the Creator of it all.
Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
There are Pastors on television that follow a prideful gospel, they seek to speak about victory, but in reality there are many trials and we aren’t suppose to be thinking we are to get all the things of this world and be victorious. What happens when disaster hits do then the people go astray because they think their God has deserted them?
We are to be joyful people, God will test us as He purifies us molding us into His image and sometimes that means struggle, putting your needs to the side and helping someone else. Making a determination do I need to exalt myself or put the other person in front of me?
Pride can choke a person, it’s a deadly disease of selfish means, and it can destroy relationships and make destruction in its path where there is no peace.
So my friends, may I ask you this question, where do you place yourself in life, ahead of others, your needs first? Is God in the forefront of your mind? Do you give Him credit for all you have, not just the material things but work, family, food and recognition?
#Jesus #pride #joy #fall #boasting #followChrist
The world as we know it right now is out of control, people have no limits in the way they speak to others, how they solve emotional problems and where they put their hope. A lot of people put hope in their money, now I understand that we must have this in order to live we have to get income for our needs and things we desire.
But what you do if you lost everything today? Have you ever thought about it? People live through tremendous storms in life and they lose everything through weather, divorce, loss of job. But… what’s the difference if it was your last day on earth and you leave everything behind, but for what? What’s ahead for you after here?
Many people would say, I’m a good person and I will get into Heaven and see Jesus, this is what Jesus says:
Matthew 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
How does that affect you? You may or may not attend church, you say you believe in God but sit in judgement of others, you don’t forgive someone when they wrong you, you talk badly about others and you help yourself to things that aren’t yours. The list can go on but truly when you have a relationship with Jesus these things aren’t part of your life anymore, in fact the thought of it makes you sick, like a sin-ful of disease. Jesus then tells us:
Matthew 7:14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
My friends what you live for now, is temporary, here today, gone tomorrow and what is left? If you don’t build a relationship with Jesus, what will you have after this life? I can tell you just what Jesus says right here:
John 3:3 “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
God’s Hope: Stop trying to fit God into your life somewhere, maybe on Sunday’s or whenever you get around to thinking about it-He’s your Heavenly Father, who loves you and desires a relationship with you right now, nothing or no one on earth can save you after you are gone only Jesus who is always knocking at the door of your heart for a relationship with Him- shedding His Blood for the redemption of your sins. Who would do this for you?
TO HIM BE THE GLORY FOREVER!
How do you forgive something that is so unforgivable?
Do you avoid them? Do you pretend that it didn’t happen? How do you go on having a relationship with that person or the behavior that person has done. Sometimes I find that going over the situation only makes you feel more exasperated, that what happened just should not have, how do you forgive something that tore your own soul apart? Maybe someone didn’t understand what you said or what he or she said or did. It’s like a vicious circle of reminders isn’t it?
But as hard as it may be and I know it’s difficult and I am not walking in your shoes, don’t know the circumstances, but I can tell you, that if you relinquish it to Christ, you will have peace, the peace that goes beyond what you can only imagine, something that calms your soul, moves you to tears over it but Jesus has a way of just wiping those tears away. Forgiveness is hard, pride comes because you can’t let that thing go, so let it go, it’s no longer your battle it’s now in the hands of Jesus.
Many times I have had to place the hurt at the Throne of Christ, knowing that because someone has done the unthinkable, the unforgivable, I can now look and say that the peace, which Jesus has given to me, outweighs the act of what someone has done. Placing your trust in Him, who has forgiven you for many unforgiving acts against Him through sin, will help you understand why we need to forgive because He forgave us and went to the cross for us so for Him, we are His ambassadors in this world, we represent Him as we turn the other cheek.
So as you read this, is there someone that beckons your heart that needs to be forgiven, I mean really forgiven without holding anything against that person? God wants our whole heart not just half or what you can spare, the whole heart to be molded and ready to follow His ways as we should everyday.
