Kindness in the face of adversity

Well when you walk with the Lord he is testing you with all his might, your response is how you pass the test or not.
Today I was with someone that was very angry. He was cursing around his son, I kept looking at his son and thinking, I feel sorry for you. Your father doesn’t respect you or thinks you are his gift from God. Why do people do this to their children, money was on his mind and it took priority, uttering perverse language is just not the love and honor you show or teach children. I thought later should have I just said not to, or something?
