It’s A Choice

One of the questions I have for you today is:

What has God gifted you with as a task of doing to glorify His name?

You might think, well, I’m not a pastor, or an Elder, I don’t work in a church or do anything directly associated with spreading the gospel to others, how can what I do be glorifying the Lord in any way?

First of all, you are His and because you are His He gives you the tools in your everyday life to show His glory. When you do your job at any type work whether it’s at home or in your paying job you are glorifying His name by the way you conduct yourself in the presence of others and being present in their lives.

Not everyone has to be a famous preacher or writer to influence the people around you, God has given you the unique privilege to stand on His behalf to do what He has put in front of you this day. It’s so simple just be obedient to His will and He will direct your path in what you do each day.

2 Corinthians 9:13

13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.

God has a personal journey for each of us, not everyone’s journey will be the same, and He places you where He needs you to flourish for His glory. Maybe sitting in an office isn’t where you thought you would end up but God needs you there for a reason. Instead of thinking about how it’s a torture, think of it as a mission field ready and ripe for what he can do right there.

2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

So I say to you, hold on to what God has given you and use that gift that’s what separates you from others that unique gift God can use in this world to bring others closer to His one and only Son.

Shalom

Nancy

So true Nancy. When we learn to wait upon the Lord, we will bloom where He has planted us and be able to effectively complete our mission. The waiting part is always the most difficult for us I believe. Well, it is for me.
