Matthew 28:18 (NRSV) And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Jesus tells us to follow Him, if we are following and doing the will of God we can expect the best promises that he has for us. When we try to fulfill needs or desires in our own strength they will never last. Only a true, trustworthy relationship with Jesus can sustain us. Grasping at the things of this world you will never be satisfied, or if you are it’s temporary but a rich relationship with God is lasting, through eternity, because we are just foreigners here.
Hebrews 11:13 (NRSV) All of these died in faith without having received the promises, but from a distance they saw and greeted them. They confessed that they were strangers and foreigners on the earth,
We are placing our trust in Jesus, spreading the Gospel to others and especially the unsaved that may not even know who God is, or what a church is all about. Take time to focus on one person that the Holy Spirit has guided you to and speak truth into their life. They may or may not hear you at first, but keep trying, someday God will have woken them up for a need to devote their lives to Him as well.
