Romans 1:25 – because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
Sadly these days I am witnessing more and more of people placing their trust in the things of this world. I try to be understanding to the way the world has caught people up into it. That is the sin of the world, following its ways. But in all the thinking we do about it, it comes down to one thing only, you are a slave to whatever controls you.
So if you are spending time looking at your cell phone instead of giving the person in front of you attention which that person deeply desires you to do, then that cell phone is controlling you, ok, Really? A piece of metal over a human being?
So it is said with God, if you are not giving God your full attention then how can you ever see the blessing? I have been guilty of this myself, I spend a lot of time in front of the computer but one day I thought I am missing life by sitting here letting this run my days. You know why? Because I exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshipped the creature rather than the Creator, I stopped and started spending time away from the computer and taking a walk or getting something accomplished elsewhere.
Do you see yourself here, doing and running after things that are empty? Then step back and see what God can do in your life once you put down the things that control you.
So often I am looking just for the right prayer, do I look in a prayer-book, the psalms, where is the best place to find just the right prayer?
Oh how the Holy Spirit is your guide on this matter, He knows your heart and what you need, as you depend on Him so much more your prayer life becomes more dependant on Him. He guides the prayer, sometimes to a psalm, sometimes the deep internal need from your soul. Our connection to Jesus is through the Holy Spirit’s guidance and who would know you better than He? (yes, the Holy Spirit is a He)
But let us never to forget what Jesus told us to pray,
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Remember we must follow what the scriptures say to us, pray without ceasing. Shalom
Often times, it seems like when things aren’t going the way we want them to, like when we lash out or are wondering what’s the hold up? The things that motivate us to get what we need right now isn’t the way that God sees our destiny. Prayers can be unanswered sometimes, ok maybe a lot, but many are answered. That doesn’t mean God doesn’t hear us, it’s His timing, not ours.
So if you are stuck in traffic, instead of moping about, thank God, He may just be saving you for the unknown ahead. An example of this is, when ever we get frustrated with a light or with people going 15 miles an hour ahead of us, instead of throwing a fit, think that God is at work and so are His angels of protection.

The bigger picture is so overlooked, we want what we want, right now! But God sees something better, that picture could bring about a changing in your life that you thought could never happen. We ask God to give us “stuff” but He’s bigger than the stuff and what he’s going to do in you next will be monumental!
