The World’s View

Let’s face it, there are  many obstacles that we encounter in church that sometimes gets us to think about ways in which we can get people to follow Christ and attend our church, in thinking that the church we attend isn’t doing the right things, it will try fancy new ideas in hope that it will increase church traffic.  But we really do not understand that people may be entangled in the world’s view and not Christ.

Some go with philosophy, and yet others demand a more spiritual way of looking at things and these may not include following Christ. Let’s look at what Paul tells us in Colossians 2:8 -See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world, rather than Christ.

This is the way that people are heading these days, turning away from Christ and going their own way, following the world and deceptive ideas, praying to false beliefs, gods, nature and believing that they are in control of their lives and destiny, but rather heading for destruction, at the end of their life not realizing or understanding what will happen to them after they die. They are living for today, fun, thrills, excitement, feel good attitudes but at the end emptiness.

That is why,  as Christians we know there is only one way……..we know it is to receive Jesus Christ as Lord. we are set free in spirit and mind, hallelujah!

So if you are struggling with some person or writing that holds you captivated ask yourself this question, is this everlasting? Do I see God in this? Does it reflect Jesus and His teaching? Because through the Bible, it is Gods word that holds everlasting hope, it’s His word, not the world’s view.

There is Hope

My Rose plant I call Hope

My Rose plant I call Hope

About a year ago I bought this half perishing rose-bush at a discount price from a Garden Nursery Center.  I planted it in my garden next to a large Cross that my husband made, hoping that it would be a climbing rose-bush right around the cross. I fertilized it and watered it and gave it special treatment more than the other rose plants I had around it , hoping that it would flourish, but sadly with each passing day this spring it started to die.

So in my “got to fix everything mode” I replanted it and gave it less attention hoping that it would either take it’s turn or not.  About three days ago, I was passing it by on my way to the garden and saw this miracle, it had grown a new branch and one yellow rose which I now call hope. The reason (there are so many) that I call it that was because just when I think there is no hope, God replants me.

He will rise me up and out of situations or bless the ones I am in just to show me there is hope and that He listens to the small things we ask for or think about. So in my writing this to you, if you are down or depressed or even think you can’t get out of something, there is hope through Jesus Christ and that your road ahead is far better with Him as your guide.

Oh Lord, How I Love You!

These words are coming so strongly in my mind today. I almost have to kick myself some days because I get to thinking about where my happiness should go. Is it in a job? no. Is it in Church? no. It’s in Christ and oh, how I Love Jesus. My life is full because of Him, because of Him I can live free from the worries of the world and trust Him no matter what. It’s because of Him I have food and rest. It’s because of Him that my troubles melt away in knowing Him.

And you know what? He loves me more! More than I know or you know. It’s so powerful the stars could fall at lightning speed and it could not catch up to the spread of love that Jesus has for us all. That being said, if you think you can find happiness in your stuff, think again my dear! It’s not happening. The stuff is temporary and the things of God are eternal.

Oh, How I love Jesus!
