But The Greatest Of These Is Love

Love: And now I will show you the most excellent way ….1 Corinthians 13:1

In 1 Corinthians 13 Paul tells us what love is and isn’t.

Love is Patient     (even when you come to the end of your rope!)

Love is kind          (even when someone is acting selfish, or unfriendly)

…it does not envy  (be happy for them, know your blessings are great!)

…it does not boast (be humble in your ways)

…it is not proud     (show grace)

…it is not rude       (show kindness and mercy)

…it is not self seeking   (serve others)

…it is not angered   (be self control)

…it keeps no record of wrongs  (forgiveness)

…Love does not delight in evil, bit rejoices with the truth   (care about others feelings, think before you speak it)

it always protects  (looking out for others interests)

Always trusts         (even in the face of betrayal)

Always Hopes       (keep the faith!)

Always perseveres  (don’t give up on them or you)

So I say to you are you following Paul’s example or is your heart hardened and your mind full of un forgiveness?  Loosen up your chains on someone and love them , break free of what the world is holding upon you that you cannot reflect your Lord Jesus on earth and be like Him, loving and merciful. If you are facing difficulties right now I suggest you read this chapter and pray about it. Show love to others no matter what, even if the circumstances seem bleak, things can change just follow Christ example and Paul’s writing, you will be inspired to love and to show love to others

Promises of God

I often pray to God to direct my path, I can see how He works through daily needs of myself and others. But I am thinking to myself when are the promises of God going to be fulfilled? Now there are a lot of people out there preaching that the coming is soon, Jesus tells us yes His coming is soon, right at the door, but believe God that when He makes that decision not people, history has shown us that God is sovereign and has patience, His will is not our will and when He makes that time of the end come it will be His timing.

The events that are unfolding right now can be found in the scriptures of the prophets but I say to you, are you living for yourself or the coming? If the coming does not happen right now are you fulfilling your daily requirements of following Jesus? Are you following the Commandments of God? If you are living for the world, where is your promise? In the World? By Gods grace He has called you to come to Him, are you fulfilling that call? Are you not working at being a good Christian and walking in Gods ways?

Don’t be fooled by the world, the things of it are so temporary and unfulfilling that you are wasted in time with trying to prove yourself to it. God loves you right where you are and because you follow Him your life will be blessed, the more prayers asking to follow in His ways the closer you become like Him. We can never achieve that perfect place because we are of sin, but we can trust in Him and He will guide our path.

Sadly so many people right now are falling away from God but you must be the rock that holds them until the end, even if the Day of Lord is not yet here. We are Christians trying to encourage others and teach them Jesus way, love, and righteousness no matter what. Have patience my friends , Jesus is coming and when, only God knows, behave in the way He would require you to, work on the details of your life and be better at them. SHALOM

Isaiah 25:1 O Lord, you are my God, I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago.

Endurance for Christ

Endurance For Christ

Do you know what it means to have endurance for Christ? Well let’s start with knowing who you are in Christ. Are you following His ways? Are you walking the talk on your journey each day? Are you enduring the hardships of hearing the false accusations of your faith in the Holy One? So where do you fit in in this time on the earth of great persecution of Christianity? Hold steadfast to God.

Lets us define Endurance (Dictionary.com)

1. the fact or power of enduring or bearing pain, hardships, etc
2. the ability or strength to continue or last, esp. despite fatigue, stress, or other adverse conditions; stamina
3. lasting quality; duration
4. something endured, as a hardship; trial
When you read through the many letters of Paul he often talks about his endurance in the face of persecution, slander and unkind words spoken to him. Let’s look at 1 Corinthians 4 Paul’s letter to the Corinthian church.

1 Corinthians 4:10-13

New Living Translation (NLT) (Biblegateway.com)

10 Our dedication to Christ makes us look like fools, but you claim to be so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are so powerful! You are honored, but we are ridiculed.11 Even now we go hungry and thirsty, and we don’t have enough clothes to keep warm. We are often beaten and have no home. 12 We work wearily with our own hands to earn our living. We bless those who curse us. We are patient with those who abuse us. 13 We appeal gently when evil things are said about us. Yet we are treated like the world’s garbage, like everybody’s trash—right up to the present moment.

Paul’s word reflex his attitude toward others while he representing Christ on earth. How many times have you heard or seen someone turn themselves away from the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus? Their actions are not pure and when you are facing these things your faith has to endure the persecution and slander that you face. You have to overcome it. Jesus knows it is hard for you, but as Paul writes the letter he was faced with many trials and accusations that have thrown him into jail and beaten, but like Christ he endured it for the sake of Gods Kingdom.

So I say to you who may be struggling at times remember that just because we do not hear a voice telling us “good job there” from God that does not mean that He doesn’t know what you have accomplished for Him and through Him and His grace.
