A very good friend of mine had to travel from Long Island to Maine on business. He heard there was a storm coming and heard that there was only going to be 4″ of snow in Maine, so with that in mind, no worries, he took a four-hour drive up the coast to Maine on Thursday night. You see he only heard that there was going to be 4″ but when he was awoken by a co-worker that the meeting was cancelled because they anticipated a blizzard ahead. Low and behold it was true!
You wonder why I tell you this, it’s because that is what life is, we anticipate a little storm but in reality sometimes they are blizzards. Isn’t it true? You think life is going pretty good and then, there’s a blizzard, a snowstorm that it makes driving impossible and the way back home just takes many hours longer. (for my good friend many hours longer)
That’s true with God isn’t it? We have days when we are going along fine maybe a couple of snow flakes accumulation 1″, but then a storm, suddenly what you thought you could handle is coming harder and faster than you thought. Maybe these things are a reminder to show us that we can always know what God wants us to do. We can’t always anticipate a smooth ride when it comes to loving God and wanting what he wills for us. But I say to you when in the midst of a storm, pray. We don’t know the outcome of our storms or even why they happen, but as we go through them God wants us to reach out for Him and pray. Not leave the circumstances to time, but to God in His time.
Hoping you “weather” your storm,
Blessings and peace
