Standing Firm With God

These days of adversity are spelled out in the word of God. Every generation has experienced it, every nation has gone through this, but mostly every time we experience it God is holding us up through all kinds of situations we can’t control.

Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:10-18 to put on the full armour of God as the devil is constantly scheming against you. Paul tells us our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, the rulers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

I absolutely love the way Paul says “Stand firm, stand your ground, with the belt of truth around your waist, the breastplate of righteousness in place and your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” Take up your shield of faith” Paul says “which can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”

I don’t know about you, but these trying days we need to have our minds set on things above. Jesus as our commander in the world so that the armor that Paul talks about is our Lord and the truth written in the gospel is our peace.  How else can we live if we do not have the peace of Christ through this moment and the times ahead. As the devil prepares his armies of flames, Christ teaches us to hold in the gospel of peace and love and to know that He is in charge of us, not the rulers of this dark world.

May you find this day and the days ahead remembering that He is with you now and always.

Amen!

God Records Your Tears

In every life there must be some rain and we ask ourselves if God even cares or thinks of our pain or trials. In the Psalms David writes and speaks to our hearts as God is working through Him to reach us. I know through trials of my own I have been very weary and troubled, but I also know if I hold on for a short time the Lord works through the troubles to come to an outcome that is fruitful if we put our trust in Him.

David tells us in Psalm 56:8 -Record my lament,

list my tears on your scroll

are they not in your record?

God sees all.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 10:30 “And even the very hairs of your head are numbered”

We can never know the vastness of God, but we can know this….We are counted by Our God in Heaven.

Maybe the world doesn’t notice us, but God surely does, His love his our life and our tears are recorded!

AMEN
