Harvesting for God

Luke 10:2

2He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.

Are you ready to roll up your sleeves yet? God is waiting for you and has called you. Do you answer? Are you equip to prepare for His coming?

Tithing to God

Deuteronomy 14

22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. 23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the LORD your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the LORD your God always. 24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the LORD your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the LORD will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the LORD your God will choose. 26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice. 27 And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own.

28 At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns, 29 so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the aliens, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. Give to the needy, that would be a blessing t the Lord. Be gracious as you give and prepare for whatever may come. Be ready and willing to give without hesitation.

Obey God

Deuteronomy 6 (New International Version)

Deuteronomy 6

Love the LORD Your God

4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. [a] 5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Love God, take care of your family let them know about God and His unabounding love for them, you are counted upon to do this.

Luke 4

The Temptation of Jesus

1Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert, 2where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.

3The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”

4Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone.’[a]

Jesus was hungry and the devil tempted Him with bread and over abundance of bread. But He said no! He sacrificed Himself for the greater good of all. Do we give up what we love in the flesh? Ask God what it is He would like you to give up, maybe it’s something you thought you could not live without. When you finally give it up, it’s like you were tied to it, not free.

God is always working on you

Malachi 3:2-3 (New International Version)

2 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousnessGod is always making you closer to His image, making you better. Teaching you.

The Day of the Lord

Today’s passage:

Joel (New International Version)

2 a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of clouds and blackness.
Like dawn spreading across the mountains
a large and mighty army comes,
such as never was of old
nor ever will be in ages to come. This passage is a link to our future.

The Day of the LORD

 28 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days. 30 I will show wonders in the heavens
       and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke. 31 The sun will be turned to darkness
       and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. 32 And everyone who calls
       on the name of the
LORD will be saved;
for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
       there will be deliverance,
       as the LORD has said,
       among the survivors
whom the LORD calls.Read this and remember that God is in control. Think about where you want to spend eternity because your flesh does not last.
