New Year Resolution…kindness??

Time for another New Years resolution…hmmm, goals… lose weight-check, be happy-check, do more for others-check, be kinder? oh yeah!!! Jesus said we are to be kind to others. He was so very kind being born of Mary who was of sincere love and kindness. We just need much more of this all the time. The Christmas season is over if one more impatient person could just be a little kinder, then this would be like pay it forward… Follow jesus, read the gospels and see how He showed the ultimate kindness when there was so much unkindness in the world even at that time.

Happy New Year’s Resolution! Kindness!!!!!!

You can’t take back what you said

Did you ever say to yourself, why did I say that? or Why did I write that? Well it happens to everyone. You don’t mean it but it seems to come out at times, by accident. Sometimes I wish I could pre-think about it, then realize what I could say. That is just plain wish-ful thinking, But I can say one thing about it all, if I am feeling guilt over what I said then that means I have remorse. That is a good sign since I believe that’s partof my Christian growth.

So the moral is: try to be understanding of the listener before you say something out of line/

When someone is unkind

What are the intentions of the person that is unkind? Is it just a simple way of telling you they are unhappy? Proving your point to make themselves look better? There are many ways to answer the type of behavior that happens when people don’t think about the way they answer you back.

All I have to say is kindness. Stop beating people up. Be kind, be respectful. Life is short and you can’t take back what you have said. It’s not about you.

Jesus teaches us kindness through the gospels and to be patient as He was with His disciples. As Jesus was,we need to follow His ways with others.

Holiday Kindness

It’s that busy time of the year. Are you thinking of anyone less fortunate? Today on the news a woman from Westchester, NY was in desperate need for children’s toys. She gathers them every year and distributes to Foster Children in the area. This year she has had little  support, so she had to turn to the news to get what she needed.

I know times are tough, but squeeze it out, you can do without an expensive latte for a couple of days so you could help support a cause. Your kindness goes a long way for others.

Treat people with respect and you will see respect right back, that is kindness you show. Remember you reap what you sow. If you deceive you will be deceived.

Reach out to someone today even if you don’t know them, a smile– asking someone how their day is, this goes a long way. Ne kind, this is a reflection of our Lord!

Today is a new day, make time for kindness

The day is new and what you have to offer is your time to show  a little kindness to someone in your life. I enjoy be kind to people I don’t know and make it a fun time to see people as they react to someone going out of their way to be kind. I think sometimes they can’t get over it. Just talking to the check out girl at the supermarket makes her day, because I took an interest and time to listen, when most people would just look to get out as soon as they can. Take the time, it means alot more than you think.

The kindness you show is your special gift from God, utilize it !!

Kindness when you are down

Everyday is a new and interesting challenge. When you start your day you want to be the best you can be. But sometimes that’s tough when you are not starting your day off the right way, in prayer!

Hard to be a kind person when you are down and not in the mood to be cheery. So you must think of the other person and smile though you are not having the best of days. I know, that’s a stretch, you can do it and sometimes that person is kind and brings you out of the down mood.  So be open to giving kindness… and receiving it!  Just ask God for guidance, I did today, this morning the mood I was in was not my best but as I kept asking God to help me get through it, it was easier as the day went on.

The Serenity Prayer is amazing:

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
